I read how the people cleaning up the bodies and body parts after 9/11 had emotional trama from it in a short amount of time. The emotional fallout was tremendous. Oh yes, that is a loving god indeed to give his special people the priviledge of cleaning up after him.

Only 37% raised in JW stay in
by White Dove inin the cbs/ap it's reported that "only 37% of those born into the sect remain members.
" it also said that jw is the fastest growing religion with the worst retention rate.
i guess it's that they appear attractive long enough to baptize the people, then they lose them.

Also the parenting techniques the JW's used to control and keep their kids in the org. repel the kids from it.

I believe that all of us are divine as we are all made up of the same kind of energy as that which move the planets. God is all and within all. As above (cosmos) so below (atoms).

My response was from the who's supposed to boss me around angle. The other angle is from a worship one: Science has proven that there is energy that gives life by sharing energy. The energy of the cosmos and therefore the earth too is my god, gods, and goddesses. I honor all nature for nurturing me and giving me life. That is what we all can be sure of, that energy gave us life and that the cosmos nurtures us and keeps us alive. As for it being a controlling, bossy energy, NO. I have my gut feelings for that. I believe that is how the energy and/or masters of such energy is teaching us. We are learning how to live by life lessons. Buddha is cool, too: Whatever it is that you do, do it completely and well. That is an important life lesson. I invoke/evoke my goddesses and gods whenever I need them. It focuses my attention where it's needed to get something done or experience success.

I am my own goddess and my gut feeling on things is my god. Our consciences are almost never wrong. It keeps us out of trouble. I know right away if I'm doing the right thing or the wrong thing because I actually listen to that little voice in my head (cartoons depict her as being an angel on the shoulder.). That really is good enough for me.

WT-Says Moms Should not Work
by leaving-jws inthe feb 1, 2008 wt has an article on p. 28 called finding fulfillment as a mother.
the article basically states that moms should not work outside of the home but stay at home with their kids to teach them things about jehovah.
it also states that moms that want to work outside the home full-time do so not out of economic necessity but to boost their self worth, to obtain financial independence or to pay for luxuries.

Since there is no scan of the article, I will apply my previous comment on what I've heard so many others in many congregations say about this topic. I think the article might be an old one because I don't know of any sisters that don't have jobs, moms included.

And self worth is worthless??? Low self worth leads to depression and an inability to function fully. I don't know of any man who would want to see their wife suffer so. Without an occupation, I would be bored out of my gored...goard...whatever. Pioneering certainly does NOT fill that void of boredom and unproductivity that comes from not having a good hobby and/or occupation of some sort. Usually, besides needing to fill a void in her life, she will have to work to suppliment his income. Also, it is a good idea to have a source of income of her own and money squirelled away in case she has to leave the marriage, whether by separating or death of her spouse. How the hell can she support herself if he loses his job or gets laid off or just gets lazy? So many reasons for both to work.

Of Pedophelia and False Positives
by inkling inok, something has been bugging me recently, so please forgive meas i play devil's advocate for a moment.
child abuse of any type is horrific, and when it is sexual innature it can cause unimaginably cruel and life-long damage.i think we can all agree on that.
however, in the past irreparable damage to people's lives havealso been caused by accusations of child abuse that turnedout to be baseless... families are torn apart, trust is shredded, reputations ruined, all because a child misunderstood something, or fabricated a story to get attention, or was pressured by paranoid and possibly abused adults into remembering things that never happened.

"Unsubstantiated" is not the same as "Innocent." It just means that it wasn't proven, that's all. There was not enough evidence to substantiate the claim. The stats show that it is much much rarer for a kid to lie about it than for it to be true. It can be true and unsubstantiated. Use critical thinking on this and other important topics.

You mean the one Snow White sang? I always hated that song. Now I know why. It seemed too familiar and reminded me of that irritatingly bored feeling I always got at the hall, only at the time I heard Snow White sing it, I was at home trying to enjoy a good movie. WTS sure can wreck our fun times even when we aren't at the meetings.
